Oamaru Marriage and Family Celebrant

Funerals

Funeral Ceremony

When someone dies, it can be challenging to know where to start and how to go about arranging their farewell. As your funeral celebrant, I work closely with your chosen funeral director to ensure that your funeral ceremony is as you wish. I listen and guide spending time to understand the wishes of your loved one: their character and their story. I then write and  compose a complete funeral ceremony. Adding personalised elements, pictures and stories so that they can be woven through every part, ensuring that your farewells are memorable.

Celebration of Life and Living Funeral

Memorials and Funerals

Whether a person has died or you would like to have a ‘living funeral’, this  is an opportunity to tell their story. To open each chapter sharing the teachings and learnings that moulded your life.

The good, the bad, and the ugly are essential in shaping us into unique people. Our legacy is to be treasured and shared with future generations.

I capture your uniqueness with words, pictures, music, and storytelling with  all my ceremonies, creating a memorable ceremony respecting your spiritual,  cultural, and personal beliefs.

It can be as formal or informal as you require in  any setting.

Pre-Planning

I will work with you to pre-plan your funeral, giving peace of mind that all your wishes are carried out. We work through all the details that you want to include; I will do my very best to ensure your wishes are carried out.

Memorials

It has not been easy for families to hold a funeral ceremony together for their loved ones in this ever-changing climate. As a part of the grief, we feel compelled to travel and be of comfort to one another, holding each other and sharing the pain of loss through the early days of losing a loved one. Restrictions and boundaries of the world pandemic have changed that. It is so much harder for us to jump on a plane into a car and make our way to a central place where we can offer love and care in our saddest moments.

A memorial is a way of reaching out and sharing those memories of the loved one that we hold dear—honouring their life in a formalised way so that all can be involved. I offer help in planning, preparing and delivering a memorial service in much the same way as a funeral or celebration of life service. A memorial ceremony can take place anywhere.

I also arrange online memorial ceremonies inviting your family and friends globally to make your memorial a complete and heartfelt ceremony for all.

The intensity of friendship and love that is formed between our pets and us is deep. The loss we feel when they die is as strong as any family member. I will help you farewell your pet friend with compassion respect and creativity. Taking care to include all the family so that they can personally say their own goodbye.
